Dilute, Non-Colour Compliant Dilute, Ancillary & Foundation Mare registrations (Solid & Non-Solid)

Step 1 - membership application

As the owners of all registered horses must be financial members, you will need to apply to join the company.  An Application for membership form and a fee schedule are available for downloading from the forms page on this site or alternatively you can contact us via one of the email addresses to the left and we will post or email them to you.  If you have been a member previously (of Palominos Australia/APHA, UPWBDA or Dilutes Australia you are considered a renewing member and will need to complete a Membership Renewal).

Step 2A - registration application (foal recording)

The company offers several options for completing a foal recording application.  You may:

If you have any one of the following you will need to complete an Application for foal recording.

  • COLT under 2 years of age, REGARDLESS OF PARENTAGE, COLOUR & REGISTER
  • PALOMINO under 2 years of age
  • HORSE THAT CARRIES Lp (VARNISH) (DNA TESTED UNLESS ONE PARENT IS LPLP) WITHOUT PATN under 2 years of age.  Horses / ponies that carry Lp without PATN will be foal recorded into the DA NSD registered.  If they are clear of characteristics at 2 years of age they have the option of being issued with a permanent DA NSD Registration OR being issued with a temporary solid dilute registration, in which case they will be required to be reinspected after 4, 6 & 8 years of age to ensure they are still free of characteristics.  If at any stage prior to turning 8 they begin to varnish out or show characteristics they will be changed back to the DA NSD register.  If by the age of 8 they are still solid in colour without characteristics, they will be issued with a permanent solid dilute registration.

Fillies and geldings under 2 years of age that are not one of the above can be either foal recorded or permanently registered.

Required documentation:

With the application for foal recording you are required to lodge the following supporting documentation:

# Colour photographs or video/DVD footage showing

  • full view of each side,

Applications for registration of studbook stock must be accompanied by PROOF OF BREEDING by way of either a service certificate, copy of other breed registration certificate or statutory declaration.  The same applies for geldings where parentage is known.  Failure to supply this information will delay the processing of your registration and if it has to be returned to you there is a $10 paperwork fee.  Our advice and assistance however are free so please email us if you are unsure about anything.
